With your favourite chocolate mud cake recipe and coloured or chocolate fondant icing you could create your very own Easter Egg cake! With some creative ideas here to inspire you, we’re sure you can come up with your own amazing design.

Melody from My Sweet and Saucy made this yummy Easter Egg Cake using a Wilton’s 3-D Easter Egg pan. She covered her cake in purple fondant and did yellow and white accents. This would look very impressive as a centrepiece on your Easter table.
- Mix your preferred cake recipe and bake it in a Wilton’s 3D Easter Egg pan {or similar shape from your cake supply store}
- Frost the cake in buttercream and then smooth over the fondant in your choice of colour {you can purchase pre made fondant from your supermarket or cake supply store}
- Roll and cut out dots of fondant with small circle cutters
- Roll and cut the yellow ribbons with a pastry wheel crimper {you could always use a beautiful satin ribbon and tie a lovely bow instead to achieve a similar look to the chocolate cake above}
- Adhere the fondant with a dab of water. After all the fondant accents are on, brush the whole cake with pearl luster dust.
- Pipe on a buttercream border with a #802 tip
- Lastly, write “Happy Easter” with purple colored buttercream using a #2 tip.
Happy Easter!
