This has got to be our favourite Mermaid Party to date!!! The very talented Zehra from Couture Event Styling in Melbourne has shared with us the most magical event she created for her daughter Berra’s 2nd birthday.

Decorations were simple and stylish with hanging tassle garlands, balloons and tissue pom poms.

What a lucky little girl to celebrate her 2nd birthday amongst real life ocean creatures, jewels of the sea, sweet treats that are “to die for” and beautiful colours of apricot and aqua… not to mention these adorable children’s party chairs!!!

Guests wore custom made mermaid costumes and were treated to gourmet desserts and sweets that included our favourite Oyster Shell Macarons complete with edible sparkly pearls inside, starfish cookies, seashell cupcakes, mermaid choc pops, cakepops on a beach of sand (brown sugar), Sand & Sea jellypots and the adorable Mermaid Ombre Ruffle cake.

Tables were set with designer place cards and party printables by Emma Smith Stationery. Sea Splash Water, Juice Bottles and pretty flowers in aqua bottles with sea shells galore.

And if that’s not enough to leave you in awe, then just look at the bomboniere… personalised chocolate bars and individual fish in jars for each party guests favour.

Zehra has thought of everything to make this a dream party her daughter will never forget.

The theme ”You’re the Apple of My Eye”  was a perfect fit for Tegan, who has made a career as a School Teacher and her fiancé Shea who comes from a family of Optometrist’s… not to mention the endearing message expressed through the quote. Printed on the beautiful moss green Cathedral Window pattern background, the green apple is the the prominent design element embellished with xoxo {kisses & hugs), the couples initials and a shooting arrow symbolising their love. The apple green, toffee apple red and chocolate brown colours of the printables all co-ordinate beautifully with the Rustic Romance theme they planned for the event.

The party started in the afternoon at a picturesque private residence in Perth. This Rustic Engagement Party had romance written all over it with fairy lights strung throughout the trees, lanterns adorning the marquee and music gently filtering through the property.  Tegan and Shea’s personal touches were visible on every table that were draped in crisp white linen and decorated with Vintage books, mason jars filled with delicate country flowers, ornate picture frames filled with “The Apple of My Eye” designs and candle votives adding a romantic glow as the sun went down. 

There was a scrumptious Cheese Buffet and Dessert Buffet set atop old wooden doors above wine barrels, along with an array of finger foods being served throughout the night. With assorted cheeses, breads, fruit and personalised wine bottles on the Cheese Buffet through to an assortment of gourmet cupcakes, apple shaped cookies, French macarons and personalised chocolate bars , there was something delicious for everyone.

Guests challenged each other with a light hearted game of noughts and crosses using twig pencils and the guests got to take home personalised chocolate bars and wine to commemorate the special occasion. The custom Wine Label Printables look beautiful with the Rustic tree bark background and custom cut shape.

“Here is a small lolly buffet designed by Paper and Style Co. for a baby girls Baptism. The mother only asked me a few days before the event, and just wanted a few lollies for the kids. She was happy for me to take full rein and only asked for the colour pink!

I went for a Shabby Chic look, that everyone loves. As it was short notice, I pulled together a selection of lollies and chocolates much to their delight. Pink milk was a highlight for the little guests, coming back a few times to re-fill their milk bottles.

Instead of using a larger table, I painted up a large picture frame all white, and used that as the table top with trestle legs. The backdrop was also a picture frame painted white with a patchwork of gorgeous fabric squares. Signage was handwritten on a kraft paper bunting. To complete the look, kraft paper fans adorned the table and drinks station.”

We love the pretty details throughout this event and it shows that you don’t need to be over extravagant to be elegant! Beautiful work Paper and Style Co.
